The last weekend in September, the wife and I took a quick trip to Chicago. Chicago is a place that I have been to many times but only a couple when I didn’t have an itinerary. So this was a treat to be able to play the tourist.
There are a million things to see in town. The Millennium park is really a wonderful public place with sculpture and an amphitheater. This is right next to the Art Institute and its wonderful collection. And then the river, and navy pier and the cool, close suburbs… the list goes on, all within a short walk, train ride or short cab ride.
One cool feature was our hotel room and its incredible view. We stayed on the 26th floor of Hotel 71. This hotel is right on the river and the view of the skyline is breathtaking. Every time we would wander back to the hotel I would take another round of pictures out the window. Just incredible.
